SeekSherpa Secures Funding Round Through VentureNursery.
A Delhi-based mobile marketplace that connects travelers with local people, SeekSherpa, has recently manage to raise an undisclosed amount of financial funding from a group of angel investors.
The company plans to use this recent funding to upscale their operations and expand the size of their team.
The funds were raised through VentureNursery’s angels patni scions, Amit and Arihant, Everest Flavours founder Anand Ladsariya, Fame Cinemas Founder Sraven Shroff, MAIA Intelligence CEO Sanjay Mehta, Starcom MediaVest Group former Chief Executive Ravi Kiran, serial entrepreneur and angel investor Anirudh Damani, Texport Garments Director Neeraj Goenka, and angel investor Vishal Maheshwari.
Commenting on this recent investment, Executive Vice President of VentureNursery, Apoory Ranjan Sharma stated, “Our angels found exceptional talent and the ability to create a world-class product in the founding team. They have the expertise to create leadership in the space.”
SeekSherpa had graduated from VentureNursery’s fourth acceleration programme which concluded during April 11, earlier during this year. The mobile marketplace allows travelers to gain access on insights, information, and experience from locals.
Dhruv Raj Gupta, Co-founder, SeekSherpa, said, “We began our story at 10,000 Start-ups, found our way into the hands of VentureNursery, got mentored from great folks across the industry and are today creating a disruptive platform that allows travellers and locals to connect and immerse themselves into each other’s cultures. Travel is going to get beautiful.”
Founded by Sukhmani Singh and Dhruv Raj Gupta, SeekSherpa aims to solve the problem of local immersion, local travel opinion information asymmetry, and local-to-traveler connect. It is doing so through its concept of micro-tours. It allows travelers to book local crowd-sourced experiences on the fly. Any experience is less than US$50 per traveller and does not last more than three hours from start to end.
