ITS Game 2014 Fosters $72 Million Export Deals.
The ITS ( International Trade Show for) Game 2014, Korea’s only game-related B2B event, was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports , and Tourism along with being organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency, leading towards a $72.21 million export deals, one of the largest seen in history ever.
The ITS Game 2014 export consultation meetings lasted for two days between June 19th to 20th at the W Hotel Seoul Walkerhill. As 305 domestics and foreign companies participated in the even where they had the chance to engage with over 1,687 export consultation. Through these deals, they signed up $72.21 million export contracts, up about 3 percent from $70 million a year ago.
A domestic mobile gaming developing company known as IST 854, for instance, sighed up a $500,000 deal with China’s game publishing company known as Netmego for its mobile-based real-tuime card battle game “Card AR Battle.”
Another domestic mobile game company BiCORE Mobile Games & Entertainment signed a licensing contract with Taiwan’s Jaguar Entertainment Technology for its action party RPG game My Monster Party.
The president of the Korea Creative Content Agency, Hong Sang-pyo, one of the biggest benefits were garnered during the time of this year’s event was Korean game makers manage to gain a foothold to move into the Southeast Asian and Indian markets where schores of game companies across the globe are currently competing hard to gain a hold of.
During the coming future Korea game maker shall have the complete support to gain a chance of going to major international exhibitions such as Chinajoy and Gamescom based in Germany.
